Still enjoying the wonderful hospitality of Carabelle. Most of the people doing the Great Loop come through here in the late Fall, but it must be big business since most of the local business people that we have met are aware of the "Loopers". The Admiral spent several hours working on a new footboard for the bed in the master stateroom. She also cut the memory foam at the forwward end of the mattress to conform to the corners where the mattress meets the hull. Fortunately, she finished her project at 2:00 pm just in time for us to try it out with a nap. I spent my time moving fuel around and polishing (filtering) it in the process. We plan to buy about 250 galllons before we depart for Clearwater so I was filling the starboard aft fuel tank. The other three tanks each now have about 25 gallons remaining in them. By moving fuel around and polishing or filtering it, we can remove bacteria, water and sludge from the fuel and more permanently from the fuel tanks. When we are travelling, the rocking/rolling motion tends to stir up the sediment in the bottom of the tanks. Clean fuel is a big priority, especially as we embark on the long trip to Clearwater. Incidentally, we still have not chosen our route. Most of the e-mail comments that I have received are guessing that we will take the 3 day route along the shore of the bend, but we are still leaving the overnight straight shot to Clearwater open as an option. So, keep guessing...
We continue to have dinner out, and tonight was our second time at the "Fisherman's Wife". The Admiral had broiled grouper, and I had the Fisherman's Salad with broiled grouper, scallops and shrimp. Wow, we are sure suffering.
