Day 80 Swim in Atlantic and ???

We left on the scooters at mid-morning headed for New Smyrna Beach. We are docked in New Smyrna (left) on the mainland and crossed this bridge over the Intra Coastal Waterway to go to New Smyrna Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. It was a relatively big event since I had not swum in the Atlantic since the late 1970s and the Admiral had only done it in the Bahamas.

I had been trying to gently warn the Admiral that it would be a "little" cooler than the Gulf of Mexico. I guess that I undershot since she was more than a little surprised.

Tonight we had dinner at the waterfront restaurant right at the entrance to the marina. This picture shows the Admiral and me on the aft deck with the restaurant in the background between us. It was raining lighlty so the (vocally) loud "Happy Hour" crowd was absent, and we had a pleasant, quiet dinner.

The big event for the evening was to go to The Little Theater in New Smyrna Beach. We took a cab that unlike our previous adventures with cabs in the area, this cab was actually early both coming and going.  It is a very nice building with new theater style seats, a large stage and seemingly excellent sound and lighting. The cast for "Bye Bye Birdie" must be at least 30 people ranging in age from 7 to 70. It was a very pleasant experience, and once again, we got to see a side of the town that probably very few visitors get to experience.
Tomorrow? We are "officially" undecided, but I am thinking that we will stay another day since we have had so much fun here so far and there is so much yet to explore (?).
